John Hill (Adapted Growth) and Tim discuss their thoughts and ideas for being better at selling. John is a thinker, a martial artist, an emerging stoic, a sales trainer, and a sales philosopher. He believes that, “Anybody can succeed in sales, and better yet, everybody will find more success by being themselves.” His goal is to be a guide in the moment. Prospects should leave the conversation with the clarity of knowing exactly what they need.

John believes that framing is essential to selling. Building up your team is also important, and he stresses that you should, “Ask the questions. Don’t make any assumptions.” He suggests taking two minutes before your calls to think about your intention. “What is the win? What is the base hit? What is the walk off? What am I going to say ‘no’ to?…If you don’t have really clear understanding about why they want to talk to you, and why it’s important right now, and how it’s going to impact everything inside of their business, you’re not ready to pitch them.”
